Meet Seth Jeffs, Rulon Jeffs Son

Seth Jeffs is one of the sons born to Rulon Jeffs and his fourth wife Marilyn Steed. Seth was also in the inner circle of his brother Warren Jeffs, the group of full siblings who Warren could rely on to help him run and administer the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints while he serves a sentence of up to life in prison for crimes related to taking underage girls as wives.

Warren Jeffs went to prison for two felony counts of child sexual assault in 2011. He received a sentence to life in prison plus twenty years. He had been the church’s leader and prophet from 2001 or 2002, depending on the source, after the death of Rulon.

Warren was believed to have more than 80 wives. More than a dozen of Warren’s spouses were previously married to his father Rulon, according to reports. High-ranking church men were allotted many spouses under Warren’s leadership, while the wives and children of men who fell out of favor were “reassigned.”

Seth and his church members fled to South Dakota, before moving to Minnesota.

Where Is Rulon Jeffs Son, Seth Jeffs Now?

In May 2019, Seth Jeffs made headlines after Cook County officials in northern Minnesota ordered a temporary halt to construction by Seth’s construction company. The officials issued the cease-and-desist order to a company tied to Seth. The order was issued after officials visited the 40-acre property west of Grand Marais and found apparent wetland violations.

He was also building a new compound in Grand Marais in Minnesota. The land was up for sale as the group defaulted on a $1.6 million loan. The compound sat along a gravel road. Tall pine trees, a privacy fence, and a guard tower shielded the view inside the compound.

Seth applied in August to build a 5,760-square-foot building on the Minnesota land. The officials initially approved the permit in December 2018.

According to a letter given to Emerald Industries, LLC by William Lane, planning and zoning administrator for Cook County Land Services, the latest inspection found that “the disruption to the landscape was pronounced and has occurred outside of all relevant permits”. The letter, addressed to Seth Jeffs, orders him to immediately cease all site activities “until such time that comprehensive erosion and sediment controls are established and site stabilization is demonstrated.”

Back in 2016, Seth took a plea deal in a multimillion-dollar food-stamp fraud case. Authorities convicted Seth and his brother LeRoy for an elaborate scheme to game the SNAP food program by claiming benefits for the compound’s sprawling families.

He reportedly ran his own secretive sect in a compound in South Dakota near Pringle in Custer County.

All while, Seth was also facing a lawsuit from a woman who says he and the FLDS subjected her to ritual se* abuse at 8 years old. A former FLDS member, she sued the church, alleging that they subjected her to “systematic se* abuse” from the age of eight to fourteen. The religion forced her to become a “scribe” when she aged 14, the lady claimed, recording elders’ abuse of other minor girls. “Priesthood Leader” Seth and his brother Warren, she claimed, were observing and engaged in the torture.

How Many Wives Does Seth Jeffs Have?

Seth Jeffs admitted to having seven wives and 19 children in a 2009 interview at a Texas ranch. Seth portrayed his polygamous family as a divine union. However, he and other church elders were plotting to break the law behind the scenes.

Seth purchased the 40-acre parcel on Pike Lake Road as the registered agent of Emerald Industries LLC for $88,000. The LLC lists Seth’s Eden Prairie address and an address in Helena, Montana in the company document.

Seth worked as a courier for his father Rulon and brother Warren before venturing out on his own. In 2005, authorities caught him in Colorado with a car full of Warren’s letters and $142,000 in cash. Seth faced charges of hiding a person from arrest in federal court. He pleaded guilty and received a three-year probationary sentence.

Seth took the responsibility for the FLDS compound outside Pringle, South Dakota. He has spoken in front of public hearings in South Dakota, requesting permission to use the compound’s well for more water.
