S Club Release Emotional New Single 'These Are The Days'

Publish date: 2024-06-06

British pop icons S Club make their long awaited return to music today (July 26th) with the unveiling of their brand new single ‘These Are The Days’ – the groups first musical release in 20 years!

Dedicated to the memory of their late band member Paul Cattermole, who died suddenly in April of this year due to heart-related issues, the sentimental track was written by the bands longterm collaborators Cathy Dennis, Simon Ellis, Johanne Ellis and producer John Nathaniel.

In a message to fans Jo, Jon, Rachel, Tina and Bradley say of the touching song: “‘These Are The Days’ has been a true labour of love, and the experience of creating it together has been so special. This track is all about celebrating the ‘Good Times’ and remembering Paul as we look back on this long and winding journey. We hope you love it as much as we do – this one’s for you Paul.”

And if someday we find / We ever have to say goodbye / We’ll be running back these memories to relive time after time / Because these are the days of our lives, that we’ll always remember…

Following Cattermole’s tragic passing, the band – minus original member Hannah Spearritt who for personal reasons has decided to take a step back from the group – announced they will continued as intended with their upcoming UK arena tour celebrating 25 years of S Club 7.

Renamed the ‘Good Times Tour’ in honour of Cattermole, who sang lead vocals on the group’s 2001 song of the same name, the tour kicks off in Manchester on October 12th. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.

Speaking at the time of Paul’s death, the sextet said in a joint statement: “We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.”
