P. Diddy arrested for allegedly attacking his sons coach with a kettlebell
This story belongs to the “so strange it’s probably true” variety of arrest tales. Of course, all defendants are innocent until proven guility, so we don’t know for sure what happened. P. Diddy now sits in the LA county jail after allegedly attacking his son’s coach with a kettlebell weight. Those pieces of fitness equipment can be extremely heavy and are often made of concrete. They can easily function as deadly weapons.
TMZ is on the case of P. Diddy’s altercation with his son’s football coach. Diddy is reportedly “a helicopter dad,” which wouldn’t surprise me so much if his son was in elementary school. Nope. Justin Combs is a college-aged guy, and he must be so embarrassed by his dad’s behavior. I guess Justin missed too many workouts, and the coach said he couldn’t play until next season. Justin should have handled his own standing on the team, but Diddy took matters into his own hands. Things reportedly got rough. Here’s the initial story from TMZ with a number of ongoing followups.
P. Diddy has been arrested for allegedly getting into a fight with a football coach at UCLA … where his son is on the team, TMZ Sports has learned.
We’re told Campus Police took the music mogul into custody early Monday afternoon. Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, is a defensive back on the team. We’re told the fight went down at the UCLA athletic facility.
One source says a strength and conditioning coach was screaming at Justin on the field during a strength and conditioning session. We’re told the coach “was riding Justin, screaming intensely at him.” Diddy watched the whole thing from the sideline.
At some point later, we’re told Diddy confronted the coach in his office and grabbed him. Diddy was arrested for assault.
A source connected with Diddy tells TMZ Diddy himself initially wanted to call police, but the phone was taken out of his hands.
Diddy is still in custody at campus jail.
[From TMZ]
After TMZ’s first story, they updated with info from law enforcement, who said Diddy allegedly attacked his son’s coach with a freaking kettlebell. So police arrested Diddy on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon. There’s supposedly video of the incident, and sources say Diddy swung the kettlebell and barely missed the coach. Diddy’s team says he only held up the kettlebell in a threatening manner and never took a swing. Diddy also told sources he acted in self-defense, which makes no sense. He’s been moved from the UCLA campus jail to the LA county jail. The UCLA paper followed up and said Diddy has been charged with “three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery.”
Now here’s a related (and much less sobering) tweet. The 1990s are back.
Diddy arrested. Suge Knight in jail. Jurassic Park movie. Terminator movie in July. Clinton & Bush running for president. Hannibal. #90s
