(CelebrityAccess MediaWire)– Effective January 3, veteran facility executive Jim Walczak became the new facility manager of Racine Civic Center in Racine, WI.

Walczak said he is looking to bring their operations to a higher level. In 2004, the civic center had annual operating expenditures of $800,000, with revenues of $900,000.

“I felt that this was a place where I was wanted and needed, and where I could make a contribution,” Walczak said. “Our goal is to operate the facilities more efficiently and effectively, and to create more events and bring in more events to bring in more revenue.”

Racine Civic Centre includes of Festival Hall, a meeting and banquet facility holding up to 1,500; Memorial Hall, a multi-purpose event and meeting facility; and Festival Park, an outdoor events area on Lake Michigan.

“There is a huge amount of potential here because of the festival grounds,” said Walczak. “The festivals they have here draw from 15,000 to 30,000 people over a two-and-a-half-day weekend.”

Prior to joining Racine Civic Center, Walczak was with Event Pro LLC in Green Bay, WI. –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
