How does she stay healthy and happy? The journalist has been incredibly open about her health and wellness journey. Read on for Ginger Zee's top 5 diet and fitness tips.

"My journey with diet and fitness has been a long one riddled with an eating disorder and obsession with exercise that matured into a healthy understanding of nutrition and activity," Ginger revealed on the Good Morning America website. She opened up about her anorexia battle on Dancing with the Stars. "It's a moment in my life that I've not shared with a lot of people," she told People. "It's not something I'm proud of because it's a disease that I chose."

One way Ginger stays healthy is by growing her own produce. "Great first green bean pull from our garden. Do you call them green beans like me or string beans like @benaarontv ? #garden #greenbeans," she captioned a recent post.

Ginger trains with Mark Langowski, the founder of Body by Mark. "I went through my last pregnancy with him and he kept me in really great shape. He got me ready for Dancing right after," she told Us. Her workouts are a combination of cardio boxing and also bodyweight exercises. "We used weighted ropes. I was dying!" she said. Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. Each week adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity and 2 days of muscle-strengthening activity, according to the current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

Ginger takes her canine friend on what she calls "HIIT runs," doing walking and running intervals to maximize calorie burn. According to the Mayo Clinic, running is great for cardiovascular health, muscle building, and weight loss. "For every mile run, the average person will burn approximately 100 calories," they say.

Ginger's top health tgoaql is to be strong. "After having two babies, my challenge could naturally be, "OK, it's been almost a year since I had a baby. I want to get my body back," she said in the GMA story. "But I'm more realistic than that. I don't want my old body. I'm a mom now. I want a better, stronger body. I want it strong, efficient and healthy — not just for me but for my husband and kids."
