Eduardo Saverin is a Brazilian entrepreneur, economist, and angel investor. He is one of the founders of Facebook, along with Mark Zuckerberg.

Eduardo was played by Andrew Garfield in the film The Social Network (2010).

Eduardo was born in São Paulo, Brazil, the son of Paula, a psychologist, and Roberto Saverin, a businessperson working in clothing, shipping, and real estate. His grandparents were Jewish emigrants, from Yugoslavia and Romania on his father’s side, and Poland on his mother’s side. His family moved to Rio de Janeiro, and at the age of eleven, to Miami, Florida, U.S. Eduardo is married to Elaine Andriejanssen, who is Chinese Indonesian.

Eduardo’s paternal grandfather was Eugen/Eugenio Saverin (the son of Alexander Saverin and Paula Zeter). Eugen was born in Brașov, Transylvania, Romania, and founded Tip Top, a chain of children’s clothing shops.

Eduardo’s paternal grandmother was Nada Spira (the daughter of Mejlech Spira and Sarolta Ferika Jacob). Nada was born in Osijek, Osijek-Baranja, Yugoslavia, now Croatia. Mejlech was born in Baligród, Lesko, Galicia, Austria, now Poland, the son of Shlomo Spira and Rose. Sarolta was born in Szeged, Csongrád, Hungary, the daughter of Benjamin Yakob and Etl Roht.
