Publish date: 2024-06-21

Bethan Kershaw is sharing a message of self-love her swimsuit. The Geordie Shore star shows off her curves in a bathing suit in a new inspiring social media post. "Your body is a unique and beautiful work of art, it is not a problem to be solved but it is something to be admired. Summer is around the corner and this is your reminder; It is important to focus on self-improvement in a way that is authentic and aligned with your values, rather than trying to conform to unrealistic beauty standards imposed by society. You are far much more than your measurements/appearance and you are only as beautiful as you treat people. Judging others only reveals the insecurities and criticism you hold for yourself when no one is around. Love yourself hard and then project that out onto the world," she wrote in the Instagram caption. "I'm not going to sit here and pretend like I don't struggle with my own body image but I just know it's a journey not a destination." She added that her body is "forever changing and growing" and she embraces it.  "I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be and I look exactly how the universe intended at this time in my life. There's no such thing as the perfect body but it can be hard not to fall into the trap of thinking you need to change every single thing about yourself to be loved and accepted." She went on to say that she has been trolled – even by friends and lovers. "I've had friends talk among each other about the way I eat when I'm bingeing, I've had ex partners comment nasty things about my boobs, I've had absolute strangers online ask me if I'm pregnant because I don't have a flat stomach ect ect the list goes on and after all of it I'm still here choosing to try and love the real me. I'm still here choosing not to be sucked into completely altering, shrinking or hating myself just fit into societal norms and that my friend will always be my strength regardless on what anyone thinks. So yeah I might still struggle with completely loving myself the way I am but at least I'm trying! Let me tell you this, don't have to have it all together all of the time you can just allow yourself to exist how you are right now." How does she approach health and wellness? In a recent Instagram post, Bethan outlined her top diet, fitness, and wellness tips – and she starts with sleep. "Get 7+ hours sleep," she writes. Bethan is right, per the Sleep Foundation. Getting enough sleep is a mood booster, promotes heart health, regulates blood sugar, improves mental function, restores your immune system, helps relieve stress, and aids in weight loss.

Another way Bethan encourages good health? "Hydrate," says Bethan. According to the Mayo Clinic, hydration is important for a variety of reasons. Water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.

"Eat foods that love you back," is Bethan's mantra about food. "I've held myself accountable and recognised my bad habits and showed myself the discipline I needed. I'm getting mentally and physically stronger everyday and have the best people in my life supporting me all the way," she added in a recent post.

Bethan also encourages regular exercise. "Working on my mind, body and soul," she captioned a recent workout video taken during an exercise bootcamp. She also suggests outdoor workouts. "Take your body out in nature," she wrote.

Bethan also does yoga. According to the American Osteopathic Association, there are more than 100 different types, or schools, of yoga. Most practices include breathing exercises, meditation, and assuming postures (sometimes called asana or poses) that stretch and flex various muscle groups."The relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome," Natalie Nevins, DO, a board-certified osteopathic family physician and certified Kundalini Yoga instructor in Hollywood, California, explained to them. "Yoga can also lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia."

Bethan also gets her zen on. "Mediate," she writes. "Laugh, love and live your life! Do all the things to honour your mind body and soul." "When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress," says the Mayo Clinic. Benefits include:
