Aimee Teegarden is a very successful actress. She first became known for her role on Friday Night Lights. She is currently known for her work in several Hallmark movies, including Heart of The Matter, My Christmas Family Tree, Christmas Class Reunion, and A New Year's Resolution. Last summer, Teegarden shared a video on Instagram of herself swimming in a waterfall. She captioned the post, "Summer adventures." How does she stay so fit? Read on to see 5 ways Aimee Teegarden stays in shape and the photos that prove they work.
Teegarden shared some of her favorite workouts with Us Weekly. One thing she likes to do is strength train. The American Cancer Society states, "As you gain muscle, your body begins to burn calories more easily, making it easier to control your weight. Strengthening exercises can increase flexibility and balance as people age, reducing falls and injuries."
Teegarden tells Us Weekly that she likes to do plyometric training. NASM states that plyometric training has a lot of benefits. "Of the many benefits of plyometric training, some of the more recognized are: increased vertical jump height, increased long jump distance. Increased strength, improved running speed, agility, and quickness, injury reduction, improved throwing, hitting, striking velocity."
Teegarden revealed to Us Weekly that she likes to surf. Surfing England states that the sport has a lot of benefits. "Firstly, learning to surf is a great way to improve your cardiovascular health. Pushing your way out through the waves, and then paddling with an explosion of power to catch them, and then repeating this over and over requires a lot of energy, endurance, and persistence. Regular surfing can help to strengthen your heart and lungs, leading to improved overall fitness. Now, combine that with the fact that surfing is a low-impact exercise (when you are just starting out anyway) meaning that it is gentle on your joints and can be a great way to stay active without putting too much strain on your body."
Teegarden tells Us Weekly that she makes sure to do cardio exercises. The Cleveland Clinic states that this has a lot of benefits. "'When part of an overall heart-healthy lifestyle, not only can regular cardio exercise lead to a decrease in your resting blood pressure and heart rate, but these basic changes can also mean your heart doesn't have to work unnecessarily hard all of the time, says clinical exercise physiologist Erik Van Iterson, PhD, MS.' Maintaining a good cardio routine also helps improve good cholesterol levels while lowering blood fats."
As you can see from her Instagram post, Teegarden loves to swim to stay fit. Better Health states that swimming is a great way to stay in shape. "Swimming is a good all-round activity because it: keeps your heart rate up but takes some of the impact stress off your body, builds endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness, helps you maintain a healthy weight, healthy heart and lungs, tones muscles and builds strength, provides an all-over body workout, as nearly all of your muscles are used during swimming."
