Agent Steven Cooper Dies

LOS ANGELES (CelebrityAccess) — Veteran music agent and promoter Steven Cooper, who worked with artists including Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, and B.B. King, died in August following a recent illness. He was 76.

According to Deadline, Cooper, a native of Montreal, started his career in New York with a stint at ICM before he ran the Fox Theater in St. Louis in the early 1980s.

After moving to Los Angeles, he moved into the role of booking agent and promoter, working on shows such as “Legends of Rock n Roll LIVE” in Rome with Jerry Lee Lewis and tours by artists such as Julio Iglesias’ and Ice Cube.

He was survived by his wife, Cynthia/Xiaoqian, his children, Rhonda (Cooper) and John Gilberg, Alyssa (Cooper) and Scott Sapire, Daniel Johnson, step-daughter Yanan Sun, brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Nessa Cooper, and aunt and uncle Dorothy and Marvin Riback.
